My parents don’t want me to get IV sedation for my wisdom teeth removal

I (M21) just went in for my wisdom teeth removal consultation and was told two wisdom teeth are partially erupted while my top two are fully out. I’m not going to lie, I got a little scared as I never had any sort of surgery, so when the NP asked if I wanted IV sedation or numbing shots, I opted for Iv sedation. When I went home and told my parents, they said absolutely not and told me to call them back and change it to numbing shots. I was really adamant and it turned into a huge argument because I genuinely refused to listen because their entire line of reason was that they were scared of anesthesia and it was an unnecessary risk. It ended with my dad saying “just cancel the surgery” (classic Indian dad🤣). I’m posting here to vent but also to get a second opinion on whether anesthesia is really that dangerous (as far as I know, general anesthesia may be a bit risky but IV sedation really isn’t)
