philosophy units are hidden WAM boosters
I’m a Chinese international student. Unfortunately, I’m a stereotype— I suck at English. However, across all the 1000-level and even 2000-level philosophy units I took, my final marks consistently fell between 80 and 85, earning either a** **DI or an HD. Although the course titles might seem abstract, intimidating, or difficult to grasp at first glance (e.g. Time, Reality and Metaphysics), the professors teach the material in a very accessible way. They’re also generous and fair with grading, making the units much more approachable than they initially appear.
Just imagine—if I, whose English is terrible could still get DIs and** **HDs in philosophy units, then for anyone with decent English, let alone a native speaker, they’re basically WAM boosters.
