My preacher sickens me

This has religious context so a warning but I just want to share this with people my age what my preacher said.

I was being baptized about six months ago. Before I was about to be baptized my preacher told this story about a thirteen year old girl who died in a house fire a few weeks ago and said it was such a shame that she was so sweet but she wasn’t baptized before she went to meet God.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that he is implying she went to hell. Which is genuinely sickening. You can’t preach an infinite loving and merciful of God then use a real child who died in a horrific accident as an example saying someone as innocent as a thirteen year old girl went to hell for something that small. I am a Christian but stuff like this is 100% why I understand people who are anti-theist and people who stay away from religion. Anyways just thought i’d share this and how awful it makes me feel.
