Basic economy flight change

traveling from west coast to east coast with friends on a separate ticket than mine. There was a at 9PM PT on 7/31 that was delayed and rescheduled to 7AM PT on 8/1. Our flights are on 8/1 at 9PM PT and same origin and destination. Since they booked Basic Economy, is there any chance they’d be able to get on that “delayed” now earlier morning flight on 8/1?

I’ll also be traveling with them and I booked regular Economy. I’m also a Platinum Premier member so is there anyway I can leverage my status to help them get on that earlier flight with me?
