Welcome one and all who happen to read this! Today, I bring you the one-hundred-and-sixty-third installment of a series by myself regarding Dollzi fanart. (And assisted with on my end by the ever reliable and knowledgeable, u/jaquiethecat.) Where basically, everyday I am going to post a piece of Dollzi fanart, and overview it. That way, if you like and enjoy it, you can go show some appreciation for the art and artist.

And today, we have another nice and simple Dollzi artwork; “dollzi wip” created by “care” over on Twitter.

Now starting off with a brief physical description and a description of the material qualities; we have two copies of Doll and Uzi together. With one Uzi looking happy and the other looking stressed while they hold Doll in their arms, and one Doll looking sad while laying in Uzi’s arms and the other looking annoyed while laying in Uzi’s arms. Moving on to the coloring and creation of the artwork, I am decently certain that it was made digitally. As it has what appears to be digitization on the outlines of the main part of the artwork, and it lacks any signs I can notice of being made with colored pencil, marker, crayon, paint, or gel pen. Additionally, the artwork doesn’t have any errors or mistakes that I can notice.

Moving on to a formal and contextual analysis of the artwork, this artwork is slightly more complex than usual; with two Dolls, and two Uzis. The second, more faint Doll is ever slightly centered when nothing else is, and thus draws your attention first. The artwork is lightly stylized, and while the larger version of Doll and Uzi follow their canon designs, the small ones break away slightly; with both Doll and Uzi lacking their hats.

And finally regarding an interpretation and evaluation of the artwork, the artwork is somewhat original. As while it is just Doll and Uzi on a blank page, the mix of more complex designs for Doll and Uzi alongside less complex ones help it not blend in too much. And the message and story of the artwork is barebones but there; Uzi is holding up Doll, and is struggling with the task. And finally, the artwork doesn’t have any symbolism that I can notice. Overall, “dollzi wip” is a mixed complex/minimalist addition to this series. And make sure to come on back tomorrow for another Dollzi Fanart Overview!
