please give me beginner tips

hello! would anyone be able to give me some beginner friendly tips? i just started tft about less than 48hrs ago and i’m totally hooked that i missed sleeping.

the problem is i keep going to whatever comps that look the same without any second thoughts. i go full darkstar, and meeple most of the time but I've never been 1st place. there was never a plan. ><

i tried searching on youtube how to play but it was so confusing for my little brain. i’m just determined to rank up! (currently s3 - just got demoted from s2)

what is the best combo comps if i’m not going to stick with just one? or does it matter? what is fast 8-9 and slow 6? i heard it from a friend but i never really get it.

any tips would be appreciated! (please use simple words because my little brain won’t understand the full tft-lingo yet.)
