Physical Fights With My Mom? Normal?

I know this already sounds so so so ghetto, but I've had a few moments where my mom and I would physically fight. I would be 12-15, and she would lounge at me, grab me by my hair or my shirt, kick me, punch me; a few times she's spat in my face. She would never hit me in any logical way, or in a way where she was doing it with the intention of punishing me(not that there is a way to do that), but it was just her being so angry at me for such silly things that she would just tackle me. And I would fight back, pushing her off of me, grabbing her hair, pinching her so she would let go.

Am I crazy? Did you guys ever do this too? All my friends who talk about being hit as a child never seemed to have their parents school-yard-girl style beat them up, but I'm sure some of you guys have.
