I see a lot of CAT aspirants here discussing percentile, calls, mocks and college comparisons so I thought I’d share something from the other side.

I’m currently at FMS Delhi and looking back at my CAT preparation phase, I realize I had a lot of assumptions about B schools that weren’t exactly true.

The biggest surprise is the brand name gets you the opportunity but once you’re inside everyone is pretty much back to zero. The competition, workload, networking and pressure are very real.

A lot of people ask FMS vs IIMs but honestly the bigger question is whether you’re ready for the grind after CAT.

For those preparing right now don’t underestimate VARC (it can literally decide your fate), don’t ignore mocks and analysis, don’t get too obsessed with cutoffs and college predictions months before the exam, focus on becoming someone who can handle the environment after you enter.

Also, since I was a Economics student before this, I had almost no idea about the MBA ecosystem or these colleges when I started. So if anyone has doubts about FMS, DU background, CAT prep, interviews or what life is like here, drop a comment or a DM!

All the best to everyone preparing.

FMS is not what I expected after CAT
