Fret Zealot 2 Review

I am writing this to warn other guitarists about Fret Zealot’s misleading advertising and retaliatory customer service .

Fret Zealot explicitly advertises that both their 24.75" and 25.5" LED strips "seamlessly" fit on "any" guitar scale length. This claim of a seamless fit for any guitar is simply not true. When I attempted to install it on my Fender guitar, the scale length spacing did not line up properly. Because it was not a seamless fit, it forced the delicate flex ribbon under tension until it ripped right during installation.

When I reported the failure to customer service, they flatly refused a refund or replacement, hiding behind their fine print policy stating that items are strictly non-refundable once the adhesive backing is peeled off. Since you cannot test the physical alignment or tension until you peel the backing and install the strip, this policy functions as a catch-22, that shifts the blame of their inaccurate sizing claims onto the customer as "user installation error."

Because the company refused to address the damaged product, I obtained a legitimate refund through Amazon (the authorized marketplace where the purchase was fulfilled). After Amazon granted the reund Fret Zealot retaliated by apparently, flagging and blacklisting my personal customer details—liekly including my name, email, and shipping address. Now, every time I attempt to reorder a standalone LED strip replacement, my order is instantly and automatically cancelled, out of pure petty retaliation.

Fret Zealot’s claims of seamless integration on any guitar are deceptive, and their customer service actively retaliates against customers who seek legitimate remedies. Buy from a reputable competitor instead.
