F31 flashes of lights in my eyes. What is it?
I’m a 31 year old female. Recently diagnosed with cervical stenosis and herniated disc with cord compression at C5-C6. Only take ibuprofen, Tylenol and zofran. I got a headache on July 24th but my head only hurt when I moved my eyes. The next morning when I woke up when I moved my eyes bright white flashes started and haven’t stopped. They aren’t there all the time but it is often.
I saw my neurologist and he said he thinks it’s an ocular migraine. I had a brain MRI about a month ago and it was all clear. No other symptoms of stroke or anything, just the flashing lights. That same day I went to en eye doctor and they took dilated my eyes and didn’t see anything wrong with my eyes.
My neurologist also said the flashes aren’t caused by the stenosis or herniated discs. Is this common for migraines? I’m driving myself insane looking for answers but with a clean eye exam and brain MRI I don’t know if I should take his word on it being an ocular migraine because I don’t think the flashes would last this long.
Any suggestions on what this might be or how to get it to go away?
