Is there anything I can do about this?
I work at a supermarket, and on a day when I had been humiliated by my father and threatened with being kicked out of the house, I had absolutely no energy or desire to interact with customers or make small talk. A guy posted this review on my workplace’s page:
“This location is now called ——- and the customer service is terrible.
On July 22nd, I was attended by a cashier named (he cites my name) who provided exceptionally poor service. She was unhelpful, unprofessional, and acted with a dismissive, rude attitude throughout the entire interaction. Staff here make you feel as though you should be grateful just to be served, showing zero empathy or basic courtesy for customers. Management seriously needs to invest in proper customer service training for their team.
To make matters worse, the store consistently smells damp and dirty. Given the overall lack of cleanliness, I wouldn't be surprised if rodents take over the place at night.
I definitely do not recommend shopping here.”
I already apologized to my manager and explained that I was going through a difficult day. This guy had been there several times before, and I had always treated him well. But on this particular day, simply because I didn’t engage in his small talk, he made this comment and specifically mentioned my name.
I’m going to bring this up in therapy, but honestly, I want to get back at him somehow.
