Reader ignoring something you've said

So, I recently had a reader who's been leaving a lot of comments on my fic and asking questions. In one reply, I explained that a certain scenario wouldn't happen because, in my version of the character, they'd be far too embarrassed to ever let it happen.

The reader then responded with, "No, but I can see it happening because..." and wrote an entire paragraph explaining why they thought it would happen; even though I'd just explained that, for my interpretation of the characters, it simply wouldn't happen.

I'm just curious: has anyone else had a reader do something like this?
