Built an integration to connect Stripe Terminal (Chip/Tap) directly with Syncro - Open Source

Like a lot of you running physical shops or taking in-person payments, I ran into a limitation with Syncro’s built-in payment setups when trying to use dynamic, modern hardware for card-present transactions. Specifically, I wanted to use physical Stripe Terminals (S700) for tap-to-pay, chip reader, and Apple/Google Pay directly at the counter without having to manual-entry everything or double-key amounts.

Since Syncro doesn't natively support Stripe's card-present Terminal hardware API, I decided to build a lightweight extension/agent to bridge the gap.

How it works:

• Connects Syncro directly to your standard Stripe account via API & Chrome Extension.
• Pulls the invoice balance and passes the exact charge amount to your physical Stripe Terminal.
• Supports Chip, Contactless/Tap, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
• Updates/marks invoices as paid once the terminal completes the charge.
• Adds a Signature Option on the S700 for any disclaimer or acceptance verbage.
• Adds the Invoice and Payment to Stripe (Needed for Signature Recovery)
• Adds a Link to the Signature in the Payment Ref Field for Easy Retrieval
• Uses a Dedicated Button Next to Take Payment for In Person Transactions

Important Note / Limitation:

• Requires a standalone/direct Stripe account: This will not work with Syncro Payments (the white-labeled integration). It requires direct access to your own Stripe account API keys to pair and communicate with the physical terminal devices.
• Requires a Render or Similar Account
• Requires a Stripe Branded Terminal like S700

I built this primarily to solve our own internal workflow headache, but figured other MSPs/repair shops in the community might find it useful.
