it's really hard to get a photo but i hope you can see them. i've had this for a while - it's been atleast 5? 6? years. i have had medical issues but for longer than that. i dont know if its related. i get these random super coily hairs. they're of all different widths, i used to pull them but they keep coming back. . my hair was dyed a lot of fun colors. i last dyed it about 4 months ago. i'm not sure what porosity it is, i think maybe medium/low on the dyed and high on the virgin growth. my hair is slightly wavy - 2A maybe 2B. i recently got my first salon haircut in about 3 years. i shaved my head 2 years ago and have been regularly trimming every 3\~ months since then. i messed up on one of my trims because i got a bit overzealaous and went to a salon to have someone who could see the back of my head fix it. she didn't notice them when she was first looking through my hair but after washing she noticed them all over my hair. i've noticed them too but i figured it was just weird hair? maybe damaged from dying it in highschool, i wasn't sure. she said she had never seen anything like it and called over her coworker to look. they both were confused and asked if id had any recent changes because its all new growth (it's not really, i pull it out sometimes. i shouldn't, im working on it.) its vaguely annoying but im not SUPER bothered by it i just am very curious about why its happening. does anyone else have this? it's pretty evenly scattered throughout my head. maybe slightly more dense on the crown. i have thick hair so they're usually hidden. i have no product on in the photos just air dried and combed. i usually try to avoid brushing it dry. i dont have any kind of silk bonnet i do want one but im not sure what to get. all the ones ive gotten have been satin and slide around my head a bunch. and always end up off my head before i wake up. i use basically no heat, like ive diffused my hair 4 times (it's too loud im autistic). anyway is this normal? should i see a doctor? why does this happen? any advice? thank you!

why do i have randomly coily hairs? stylist said she's never seen it before
