Listen, I understand people's complaints with Campaign Evolved it's rushed, janky, with a bunch of imperfections that add up over time. BUT overall, I do think it is a step in the right direction in terms of continuing the series.

As much as I would love a new original Halo game, let's be honest. 343 has absolutely backed themselves into a corner. This is kind of why I hope Campaign evolved is acting a soft reboot, because the lore has become such a mess. Sure, they could make game based on a book with fun gameplay, but I don't think most players would know why they should care about the story when it's so disconnected from most of the other games they've played.

If 343 is going to remake 2 and 3, I hope from there they just undo all of the lore they've added, which most casual players have no idea about because it's hardly explained in the games! That's not to say I don't appreciate Halo's modern lore, but it being disconnected between mainline games, books, and spinoff games (I'm looking at you, Halo Wars 2) makes it kind of hard to follow anything happening, and I can't even imagine what they would do for a game following Infinite given they finished that game off in a book yet again.

I also hope that there are more significant changes to Halo 2 and 3 that represent their original vision more. Campaign Evolved has some great QoL changes and an expanded sandbox, but the game is like 90% the same (and missing firefight and multiplayer!). Give us remakes with all of the bells and whistles, forge, multiplayer, theater, etc. and add more substantial content to missions that bridges gaps in lore and that adds features originally intended to be there but were cut due to dev time.

What do you guys think?

Does Halo NEED more remakes?
