Help me understand Gen Z
They have knowledge at their fingertips but don’t bother to look anything up. Today I was at an overpriced flea market selling vintage clothes. I go glance at the women’s cowboy boots (a bad collecting habit I picked up during the pandemic). Way overpriced! About to walk away but start talking to two recent high school graduates who seemed overwhelmed with the selection. I hint they should look online for some great vintage boots at a 1/4 the price.
For the next ten minutes I gave them the basic run down..”you want all leather, see the lemonwood pegs..another good sign… here’s the model number..just ask Google Gemini and get the skinny” They kept asking questions and thought I was a wise ol’ gal. I kept saying go on the internet—-All the info is there. I just didn’t want them to get screwed on the pricing. The nervous seller who had completely ignored them prior was side-eyeing me. She knew she was peddling boots she had picked up EBay for 30 bucks and selling them for 250.
One of the young ladies really wanted to buy a pair, and she did..imo they were not worth it but acceptable. They thanked me and we parted ways. They were both quite sweet.
Now tell me WHY DON’T THESE KIDS USE THE INTERNET?!?! What I would have given in 1990 to pull this magic phone out and look up ANYTHING!!
Please explain this to me.
