Triggering question: when the family annihilator involves the pet, could you ever be on the jury?

I'm old - I've seen shizz, and while I'm pretty hard true-crime buff - but when the annihilator f*cks with the pets, I am completely somehow pro-DP where I otherwise sometimes slow down and try to analyze psychological triggers to give the perpetrator some empathy. Perhaps I become less analytical.

Buddhist term "Upekka" and also "Idiot Compassion" aside, I cannot deal with self-absorbed humanoids (choosing this term because I feel as if annihilators have devolved from possessing human empathy) including pets, who've given nothing but affection.

I am probably a bad fellow human, and should value human victims more, somehow, but harming the pets is absolutely a trigger for me, and just a bridge too far.
