Advice/tips for a (21 F) and (22 F) long distance relationship (we live in two different countries)
Helloo! I (21 F) just recently accidentally fell in love with a girl (22 F) that I’ve met abroad and we decided despite the distance, that our connection is too strong to let go, and have begun dating! I would love any sort of advice for doing long distance, but please refrain from making any comment on our personal choices of choosing to start a relationship. Feel free to leave advice without reading the context and skip to final comments if you don’t want to read all that lolll
If you want some context before you leave advice:
**My last relationship:**
I’ve done long distance before, but that was 2-3 years ago now at the age of 18-19, and we were only 5 hours apart. We also had spent at least 11 months out of our 1.5ish year long relationship together before being long distance.
**If you want to know what happened and why we’re trying this at all loll:**
Since then I had been single, occasionally going on dates and have had a few FWBS; exploring my sexuality, what I want in a relationship and eventually learning to set high standards for myself. Right when I thought I was completely done with dating and had begun to only focus on myself I met my girlfriend while studying abroad. I genuinely have never met someone I connected so quickly with, in both personality, attraction, morals, values, sexual chemistry, etc. I had set very high expectations for what I want in a partner and she had exceeded all of those completely. What we both thought was going to be a short casual connection while I was abroad quickly turned into us both falling in love and saying fuck it you’re worth the distance.
**Some current relationship context:**
In my current relationship, we’ve only gotten to spend 1.5 months together, and I leave in two weeks, so two months total. (1.5 months ago we first started talking, we will only have gotten to spend 3ish weeks officially together by the time I leave). Once I leave to go back home we will have a 6 hour time difference, her being 6 hours ahead of me. She is going to be working full time by September, and I will be working occasionally in August and throughout my academics that also begin in September.
**Final comments:**
We both really care about each other and want to make this work as best we can! Even if things don’t work out we both want to say at least we tried. Please give me any insight or advice you have whether you have experienced a long distance relationship or not, anything is appreciated! Also thank you for reading this (if anyone does lmaoo)
