Cheapest car insurances for new driver in LA?

Hi! I just got my drivers license 2 days ago and I just turned 18. My family is really struggling financially and my dad's currently working overseas right now so I'm trying to find the cheapest insurance. Dad kind of just dumped this on me and wanted me to do my own research about insurances and find good options so I'm genuinely needing some advices. I don't know anything about this and I think my parents don't either.

Are there any affordable options that isn't super sketchy? My mom doesn't drive so we also currently don't have a car right now (and for some reason I don't think I can be added to my dad's insurance plan). I’d really appreciate any advice on where to look or what options I should consider. I'm kinda lost and have been stressing about this so any advice would really help a lot.
