Nerve itch on my calf

Hello!! I’m like 2 weeks and change post op and doing great. The only thing that I literally cannot figure out or tolerate is this weird nerve itch I have on my calf. There’s like a 4 inch section that’s completely numb, and throughout the day it will either be incessantly itchy or have this weird awful crawling sensation. I’m a student and I can’t focus on the work I’m supposed to complete. I’m also having a hard time sleeping.

I talked to my doctor and they said the only thing they could really do would be to try gabapentin, but it usually doesn’t touch this feeling. For anyone who has experienced this: how long am I going to be itchy for?? And also, how do you handle the itch?? If it’s like this forever then I’m genuinely going to flip the the fuck out.
