I’m gearing up for my very first track day at the **Velocity International Circuit** near Bangalore, which is a tight, technical, kart-style track layout.

Even though I have plenty of long-distance touring experience (like a 1,500km run to Ladakh, highway trips from Bangalore to Chennai, and handling heavy ADVs like the Himalayan 450 and BMW GS 310 across tough terrains), I know track riding is an entirely different discipline.

I’m planning to take the **KTM RC 200** for this since it feels like the ideal nimble weapon for such a tight layout.
Here is my current gear setup. Is everything here solid for a first-timer on a track?
**Jacket:** Solace Rival Urban V2 (CE Level 2 armors on shoulders, elbows, back, and chest)
**Pants:** Solace Cool Pro SUS V4T Mesh Pants (SAS-TEC CE Level 2 knee/shin, hip, and tailbone protectors)
**Gloves:** Solace Furious V2 Full Gauntlet
**Helmet:** Axor Apex (Double-D ring check will be done)
**Boots:** Orazo Picus Trail Boots (Adventure/trail boots with steel toe protection)
**What I'd love to know from experienced track riders:**
Is the KTM RC 200 the right choice here over something larger?
Given my gear setup (especially using adventure-style Orazo boots on a track), is there anything I should specifically watch out for?
What are the top 2-3 crucial mental traps or habits from street/touring riding that a first-timer needs to break immediately on a track?
*(Also, as a side question: How does an Aprilia RS 457 stack up for a beginner on a tight track like this compared to the RC 200?)*
Would love to hear your thoughts and tips before I hit the tarmac!
