made more in 15 minutes this morning than my job pays me for a full 8-hour shift, all I did was file settlement claims. still kinda crazy tbh
so my mom texts me one of those "claim your free settlement money!!" things this morning and I told her mom no, that's a scam, please don't. then she just sends me a screenshot of a claim she actually made. lol.
so obviously I try it myself to prove her wrong. 15 minutes later I'm the one who qualifies for like four of them. somewhere around $150 so far from the ones that pay a set amount, plus two others I'm still waiting on. That's more than I make in a full shift owe my mom an apology fr.
the wild part is none of them needed receipts or proof, you basically just confirm it's you. The only actually annoying part is finding which ones are open and whether you qualify, the filing itself takes two minutes.
the ones I ran into: a big Disney / YouTube TV / DirecTV Stream one (if you had either in the last few years), a generic prescription drug price-fixing one that seems like almost everyone qualifies for, a Lands' End data breach if you got a notice, and a separate California-only YouTube TV one (yeah apparently there's two different YouTube TV settlements, confused me too).
only bother if you actually qualify obviously. but if any of those ring a bell it's honestly 15 minutes for real money that otherwise just stays with the companies that lost the lawsuit. lmk if you want the exact links/dates, I saved them.
