Why did a lot of Christians at my church assumed I had sex because of hickey?

I went to my church regularly and one time I went every looked at me weirdly when I had hickey on my neck and started saying I need to repent and that I committed adultery.

Like my gf was just kissing my neck while we were at nature 😭

I am saving myself for marriege,what wrong with hickey?
