Advice for Darshanam plan in August

We will be arriving in Tirupati on August 11th Tuesday( scheduled arrival time at Tirupati airport 3:00 PM) and have special entry Darshanam (300 Rs ticket ) at 8:00 PM on same day. I didn’t get booking for any cottages in Tirumala for the night.

Our plan is to book a hotel in Tirupati , go there from the airport to the hotel , keep our luggage there and freshen up and then take a taxi from hotel to Tirumala for the Darshanam. We plan to keep the taxi and head back in the same taxi that night whenever Darshanam is done.

Is this a practical plan ?

Please advise any other alternatives I should be considering.

This would be our first visit, so please advise if this plan is feasible or any better way to plan this.
