Am I the only one whose numbers got worse after doing everything "right"?
I'm honestly at the point where I don't even know what I'm supposed to do anymore.
For the last few years I've been trying really hard to get this under control. I eat way better than I used to. I walk every day. I've lost weight. I don't drink sugary drinks anymore. I read labels. I turn down food all the time because I'm thinking about my blood sugar.
And yet... my fasting numbers are still hanging out in the 140s-160s most mornings, and my A1C just doesn't seem to want to come down.
I keep thinking maybe I'm missing something. Like maybe I'm eating too much protein. Maybe I'm not exercising enough. Maybe I'm exercising at the wrong time. Maybe stress is doing it. Every time I think I've figured it out, my numbers prove me wrong.
The part that's really messing with me is seeing people say, "I cut carbs and my A1C dropped a full point," or "I lost 20 pounds and everything normalized."
Meanwhile I'm over here wondering why losing weight and changing almost everything hasn't done much of anything.
I'm not saying I've been perfect. I haven't. But I've definitely been consistent, and I thought I'd at least see something by now.
Did anyone else go through this where it felt like the harder you tried, the less your numbers made sense?
I'm not really looking for miracle fixes. I just want to know I'm not the only person who's put in years of effort and still feels completely stuck.
