Can I buy 10,000 Status Miles before completing my first year as Classic Plus?

I am currently a Miles&Smiles Classic Plus member and need 12,057 Status Miles to upgrade to Elite. My Classic Plus status will complete its first year in September.

The Turkish Airlines website says Classic Plus members can purchase up to 10,000 Status Miles for an upgrade. It separately states that completing the first status year is required for purchasing Status Miles for status protection or renewal.

However, the app shows a general message saying that my current status must have been active for at least one year before I can purchase Status Miles.

If I earn 2,057 Status Miles through flights and reduce the remaining requirement to 10,000, can I purchase those 10,000 miles before September? Or does the one-year restriction also apply to status upgrades, despite the website mentioning it specifically for status protection?

Has anyone tried this during their first Classic Plus year?
