Meriva clutch

Hi

So did a journey from.medway to Folkestone coming off the motorway changing down and it just wouldnt change gears at all ,turned car off and on and it worked .

This occurred again on the way back .

Drove today with no problem the gear changing seems fine and the fluids are topped up .

Any ideas what this could be ,is it a clutch on the way out ?
