Help with iPad 4 and rust desk / using to remote control

I have an old school iPad 4th gen.
I want to use it as a Remote Desktop control for my laptop while I’m in another room.
Rust desk doesn’t support iOS 10, is there any other option for me to be able to remote into my laptop and use the iPad as a remote control?

It would be great as I have a heavy 17inch and it’s not that easy to roam about my apartment with it .
