Need a New Medication?

Can anyone who has been on this medication please help? I’m having debilitating anxiety and panic attacks.

I think my body is rejecting the Citalopram I’m on. I’ve been on it for slightly over 2 months now, with no relief. I had bad side effects on the 10 mg for a month, then I went to 20 mg with the same side effects (for a month), however around day 26 (of taking the 20 mg) I started waking up violently shaking, extremely anxious, and having bad depression all day long. I went back down to 10 mg 3 days ago, and today was the first day in a while with minimal shaking, but still have bad anxiety.

The biggest issue right now is, I’m having extreme diarrhea, and have since I’ve been on this medication. This can’t be normal after 2+ months. Does anyone have any advice please? Would another SSRI or SNRI work better for me possibly? I tolerated Effexor XR great in the past (years ago), but that was for depression and it was at 225 mg.

Side note: I take .5 mg Lorazepam twice daily, on a schedule, but the anxiety on the Citalopram is still unbearable.
