Lack of completions

I've wanted to apply to UMich as an international IB student but I found out a month or so ago that schools like that look heavily at completion/research and within my school/country(UAE) opportunities like that are zero to none.

I'm wondering where I can mention that within my application and or find opportunities similar in order to better my chances at getting in.
