Been applying for remote DevOps jobs for weeks with almost no responses. What am I doing wrong?
Hey everyone,
I have ~2 years of experience as a DevOps engineer (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.), and I've been trying to switch to a fully remote role.
The problem is... I'm barely getting any interviews.
I've applied through LinkedIn, Wellfound, RemoteOK, We Work Remotely, company career pages—you name it. Most roles either get thousands of applicants or require you to already be in the US/EU.
For those of you who actually landed a remote DevOps job recently:
Where did you find it?
Are referrals basically the only way now?
Is the market just bad, or am I looking in the wrong places?
Any companies that are remote-first and hire internationally?
I'd appreciate any advice or even a reality check. Thanks!
