Bronx Zoo Free Wednesdays

Hi everyone! We are looking to go to the Bronx Zoo for the first time and saw it is free on Wednesdays. We are a family of 6, 4 kids 7 and under. Some people have told us it can attract certain crowds. Has anyone recently gone on a Wednesday share their experience? Thanks!
