Why their love stands out

I‘ve discussed this a plethora of times but I just have to state once again that Hannah & Garrett stand out to me because of their built dynamic—-and tropes.

I‘m just a sucker for the MC to be in this state of mind of “no relationship. no girlfriends. stick to my plans“ to absolutely falling hard for their girl (as Bel was discussing the first video).

There is something special about two people who orbit around one other, have first impressions that are above the surface to both of them connecting because they actually like each other’s qualities for who the person is and what they represent.

It’s beautiful to see that journey of Hannah trusting Garrett and being able to be herself around him—-no shame, no walking on eggshells, no holding herself back—he loves all things about her and importantly he gives her that space to be comfortable & be her confident self.

For Garrett, he’s seen relationships as a distraction and Bel says in one of the clips that he takes need to control to stay regulated and have things in order to feel okay and safe…Hannah breaks that chain but in the best way possible because we see Garrett sliding his boundaries away and want an actual commitment to Hannah.

Like, what’s special to me about this is the fact that he is captivated solely on her. She’s the reason he wants a relationship & only with her. This is our guys first relationship and he’s found his forever 😭

There is nothing more heartening than someone unexpectedly coming into your life and becoming someone irreplaceable. Hannah and Garrett’s story (book and tv show) will always be my favorite because I’m just a simp for their tropes, the character arcs, and how much they actually truly love each other.
& what makes it better so how Bel and Ella understand their characters too.

This is why karaoke and DS are very pivotal moments for them both because we see Hannah trusting G more and more but by karaoke we also see G is totally in awe and just down bad for H. Up that point, you see him crushing on her but not fully understanding what’s happening to him—-all he knows is that shes cool—-and as he gets to know her, he falls more and more.

I love them.
