To be honest, social media—especially Reddit and Instagram—is flooded with this debate right now. It has become increasingly difficult to find genuinely neutral discussions because people tend to view everything through a party lens. The moment you acknowledge something one side did well, you're immediately labelled as either a *tha\*k\*ui* or a *koth\*s* by the other side.

As someone with a background in accounting and finance, this is simply how I interpret the available information. I'm not claiming this is the absolute truth—it's just my assessment based on the data I've come across.

* On most conventional economic indicators, DMK appears to have delivered stronger overall growth on paper.
* TVK seems to have a relatively better working relationship with the Union government, which could help with coordination on central projects and investments.
* Tamil Nadu's debt is a much more complex issue than simply blaming the government in power. Unlike states with a handful of extremely large corporations contributing a significant share of economic output, Tamil Nadu's economy is more diversified across sectors and businesses. Because of that, debt dynamics are more complicated to evaluate. Personally, I think the state's debt is likely to continue rising over the coming years regardless of which party forms the government.
* Employment remains an area where I think TVK has room for improvement. While attracting foreign investment is a positive step, translating those investments into broad-based job creation requires stronger execution and better allocation of resources.
* Agricultural administration has been surprisingly good under TVK. Whether that's because of the political leadership itself or the bureaucratic and administrative team is debatable, but the outcomes in that area have generally been encouraging.

I also don't think the upcoming election will be as straightforward as many people make it out to be. If this is DMK's last realistic opportunity to retain power, it's reasonable to expect them to deploy every political and organizational resource they have to preserve as much of their support base as possible.

Another aspect that often gets overlooked is the financial risk faced by candidates. Many DMK sympathisers and candidates who contested elections have reportedly spent enormous sums on their campaigns without any way to recover those expenses after losing. I personally know of a candidate who invested a substantial amount of money from his real estate business into an election campaign, only to lose by a huge margin after TVK won that constituency comfortably. Much of that spending had been financed through loans, leaving him with significant financial liabilities. As administrative processes become more standardized and transparent, recovering campaign expenses through informal channels has become increasingly difficult, making electoral losses far more costly than they once were.

Besides that, Annamalai has been positioning himself as someone who appeals to a more educated and politically discerning section of voters. Whether that strategy ultimately translates into electoral success is difficult to predict, so I don't think it's worth speculating at this stage.

If anyone has additional points to add, feel free to do so—but let's keep the discussion evidence-based rather than assuming every disagreement comes from political bias.
