Was prescribed Primolut as an emergency contraceptive
I had an incident on Saturday where the condom broke so I took Norlevo on the same day. However I believe I was ovulating and was worried it would be less effective. I went to the Dr today (Monday) and he prescribed me Primolut. I went to the pharmacy and she asked what I am taking it for, I told her and everything was fine. When I got home I looked it up and it says it’s not effective in preventing pregnancy at all. I called around a few pharmacies and they told me it’s not a preventative or contraceptive. I even spoke to the royal women’s hospital and she said it isn’t effective for that, as it doesn’t delay ovulation or cause a true period. She told me to call my dr again so I did and he told me not to listen to them and to keep taking it. I don’t want to keep taking something unnecessary so please someone tell me what to do 😭 I mean this guy was old and I spoke to female specialists so surly they’re more likely to be correct right? I am not asking for medical advice.
