I made my first monster-taming roguelite instead of studying for exams - please test the first 15 minutes <Android>
Hey everyone!
I need a few Android players to test the first 10-15 minutes of Monster Fusion and tell me where the game confuses, annoys, or completely breaks.
This is my first project ever. I built it using Claude Code and Codex while learning coding along the way, with some important creative assistance from my sidekick aka my little nephew.
I also made most of it while I should have been studying for my exams, which was objectively a terrible academic decision... so hopefully Reddit can now confirm whether I created an actual game or just an elaborate form of procrastination. OOF
The game is a turn-based monster-taming roguelite built around one idea:
Fusion should be the main progression system, not a small side mechanic. (Sexy idea right?)
You catch procedurally generated monsters and permanently fuse any two together. The resulting monster inherits:
- Blended stats
- Dual typing
- Four moves from its parents
- Passive traits
- A recorded family tree showing its ancestry (HISTORY)
There is no fixed species list to complete. The goal is to experiment, discover combinations, and build increasingly strange multi-generation lineages.
Also yes, there is a Rainbow type and a secret rarity with its own epic music π
Because two monsters become one, every fusion is also a sacrifice. You might create something much stronger, but the two original monsters are permanently gone. (DELETE ALL MONSTERS)
Expeditions use branching maps that change every run, with battles, elites, treasure, camps, shops, altars, and bosses.
Absolutely no inspiration from Slay the Spire here π
There is also an optional Hardcore Mode:
- No healing during battles
- Fainted monsters are permanently lost
- If your final monster dies, it is game over
The game is free and playable offline. It has no energy timers, premium currency, or paid loot boxes. It contains ads, but they are intended to be minimal, with one optional purchase to remove them permanently.
Google Play:

For this test, please play until you finish or abandon your first expedition and tell me:
- Did the beginning explain enough?
- Did catching and fusion make sense?
- Did you understand that drops can be sold for credits?
- Did you discover that drops can also be used to craft capture items?
- Did battles feel too easy, difficult, or slow?
- Did any ad appear at a moment that felt annoying or deal-breaking?
- Did you encounter crashes, broken buttons, visual problems, or strange UI?
- At what exact moment did you feel confused or want to stop?
- Would you personally continue playing after the first expedition?
Please be completely honest. Even something like "I stopped after five minutes because I could not understand this one thing" would be genuinely useful.
This is the first version of my first project, so keep expectations low xD
Pretty please? I asked nicely, so now Reddit law says you have to test it.
