Public sector legal professional in Spain looking to transition into an international remote career (Finance / AI / Strategy) – Looking for advice

General

Hi everyone,
I’m 27 years old and currently work in the public sector in Spain as a legal technician, mainly focused on public procurement and administrative law.
While I enjoy my current role, I’ve realized that what genuinely interests me is finance, investing, technology, AI, and working on analytical, high-impact projects. My long-term goal is to transition into an international company, work fully remotely, and significantly increase my earning potential.
I’m not necessarily looking to stay in the legal field. I’m completely open to reinventing myself if it means building a stronger long-term career.
At the moment, I’m considering starting with courses such as Harvard’s Financial Analysis and Valuation for Lawyers and the FMVA (Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst) from CFI, then continuing with AI, Python, SQL, and Business Analytics over the next couple of years.
My main questions are:
• If you were in my position, which career paths would you seriously consider?
• Are there better certifications or learning paths than the ones I’m considering?
• Which skills have the highest ROI over the next 5–10 years?
• How realistic is it to transition from a public sector legal background into finance, fintech, strategy, AI, or another international field?
• If your goal were to earn €80k–150k while working remotely for an international company, how would you approach it?
I’m willing to invest both time and money in the right education, but I’d rather follow a well-thought-out roadmap than collect random certificates.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have made a similar transition or work in these industries.
Thanks!
