After Fakespot shut down, I built SpendMita Copilot, a shopping assistant that gives you a second opinion on a product before you buy it. And I have been slowly improving this.

The thing I most wanted to avoid was replacing one unexplained score with another. So instead of a single number, SpendMita shows you the actual signals it found and explains why each one matters.

What it does on Amazon right now:

Flags review patterns worth a closer look, verified-purchase share, review timing, rating distribution.

Adds price context.

Explains its reasoning in plain language instead of handing you a black-box score.

Lets you save products and revisit past checks.

Mita Search: helps you search a supported link from any tab via your assigned shortcut

Compare similar products where it intelligently groups them and recommends the best based on your input and the findings made.

Price tracking to see if the price drops.

Privacy baked in.

Personalisation and lots more.

All these are free and can be access today via the v1.5.0 on Firefox and v1.1.1 on Chrome. An update has been submitted to Chrome for a v1.6.0 where Spendmita Copilot now supports Walmart US, eBay (US, UK, CA)

It's meant to be a second opinion, not a "this is definitely fake" verdict.

Where it runs: Chrome, Brave, and Vivaldi today via the Chrome Web Store, plus a native Firefox build on Mozilla Add-ons. Edge is submitted and pending review.

If you try it, I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

Whether it feels native on your browser (Brave and Vivaldi especially, I've tested them, but nothing beats real use).

Any Amazon pages that don't get detected properly.

Whether the reasoning is actually clear.

Anything that feels intrusive or annoying.

What features would you like to see or have, do note some of these might be in pro already.

Found a bug or something looks broken? Email [copilot@spendmita.com](mailto:copilot@spendmita.com) as I read every one and I'm actively fixing things as they come in, not just collecting reports.

Happy to answer questions about how the signals work or how it's built.

I built a browser extension that shows its work instead of giving you a mystery trust score, now live on Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi, and Firefox
