Spiderman 6: The Sinister Six
I know there is mixed reports on whether Tom Holland wants to continue playing Spiderman in the future and his contract likely doesnt cover 2 more Spiderman movies. Speaking just as a fan of his portrayal and the writing of his character, i really (selfishly) want him to stay long enough for us to get a proper Sinister Six movie. Hearing thathe plans to pass the torch to a new actor, i think a movie with the Sinister Six would be the perfect plot. Bringing back legacy villains from Holland's run will definitely provide fan service, but at the same time itll also save the runtime of having to establish character motive. This runtime can be saved to resolve Spiderman/Peter's interpersonal issues or the time can be utilized in developing the next to hold the mantle while exploring their relationship with Peter as student and mentor.
I think itll also fit the new spidey's story because itll be a proof of power if they are up to par to face off against Parker's old villains (im imagining a dynamic similar to Miles and Parker in Across the Spiderverse). Lastly itll gives a chance to give undeniable closure to some of these characters or at least give them closure in relation to Parker, allowing Peter to retire in peace while their eyes are set on the next Spider.
As for why i think Holland should out down the mantle on the 6th film. Obviously be the "6" fits perfectly. But without spoiling BND, after seeing where we left off the characters, i feel we need 2 more movies to really settle to a new norm for our characters. Just to compare to Ironman's arc (and counting BND as a soft refresh to Parker's story), just like how after Ironman 1, Tony accepted he is Ironman, he had to adjust to the new reality of being Ironman, going through reckless alcoholism in IM2 to PTSD in Avengers to end up at soft retirement by IM3. With BND depicting Peter's current/"new" life. I am still interested in exploring and seeing more on how he navigates this life, i especially want to see more of Peter's work life.
A 5th film also gives time to properly set up any remaining characters for the SS roster and build up towards a proper SS film. Completing 6 films also means we get a double trilogy which is so satisfying (maybe the first 3 could be the "Home" trilogy and the "New" or "Day" trilogy).
Now for the funnest part, the roster. The rest of this is just bonus blabber. You dont have to humor my fan roster if you dont want, but ill be choosing who id include in my Sinister 6 from whod i want to see most to less.

Hob Goblin. Ive heard theories about this twist on Ned's character literally every movie during Holland's run and i think with how lighthearted his character is, itll be heartwrentching to watch him turn against peter. Not a comic reader but apparently the twist of HobGob was that he *was* Ned under brainwashing. I think itll be a fun alternative if the reveal was he was influenced somehow because of the gaps in his memories from the Strange spell. And we already have alternate universe Goblin Tech he can base his character off. Utilizing this remenant momento of Norman will also reinforce the significance Norman had on Peter, taking his Aunt, his life and even after "death" taking his best friend. And tbh i every Spider needs a goblin. Ned being the major antagonist hopefully will recall some of the dynamic storyline similar to Mcguire and Franco. Comeon just imagine all the CEO of Sinister Sex memes.

Mysterio. Absolutely adored FFH's take on Mysterio's powers. His ability is also why its been theorized and would justify his return. His character end also felt half inconclusive or rather unsatisfying. In the end, he died a hero to the public and in the hands of Spiderman. Although its not address and if forgetten about, according to my logic, even after Strange's spell, it stands to reason as far as most people know, Spiderman has killed one person (an idea that doesnt sit well with me considering the lesson Peter had to learn in NWH). So a redo on his character's end would be nice.

Vulture. Im just going to start by saying Tombs is my number 2, and the real Spiderman villain is Sony. Tombs in my mind wouldve been perfect to lead this team of Spidey enemies. His scrappy nature wouldve been a perfect explanation on him seeking out street criminals to repurpose into a strong team (just like his tech, street garbage to genuine threat). His character was so well written and acted. His arc also ended with hints of him connecting ties to Scorpion plus already being acquainted with Shocker allowed him to easily access and lead this team. Wouldve been poetic to have Holland's first villain be the one helming his greatest challenge. Now the elephant in the room is the fate of his character...it was awful the way Sony nabbed him for their shitty Sonyverse. It made no sense that his character was fine with abandoning his daughter in family when his whole storyline was he did all he could for his family. At this point with seemingly no way to return to 19999, the only possibilities are somehow Tombs finds his way on the animated Spiderverse and stumbles back or we collectively imagine TVA pruned that entire plot point. Genuinely requesting a redo on the ending of his character story...

Scorpion/Shocker. I dont have very strong feelings about either of these characters joining. The simple reason is because they are already a part of the story and was already closed to allying (along with Tombs). It just depends if we want to see more of Michael Mando as Scorpion (hes amazing, waste of a great casting) or we want to see more of Shocker (give him a personality, waste of a character). They also fit as filler in case there arent enough time to develop other villains. In Shockers case, he could at least return as Vulture's main goon.

Kraven/(Rhino). Besides Green Goblin and Doc Ock, i always thought that Kraven was the most intriguing stylistically to rival Spiderman. And then Sony went and screwed the pooch again. Tbh with the multiverse busted open, id be fine seeing a retcon or recast on the character. If i could choose id love to see a version of him in the MCU as a potential main antagonist in my hypothetical 5th Spiderman movie. I just always wanted to see a proper depiction of him onscreen as a Spider villain and all the fun interactions theyd have between Spidersense and the explosive visual indicators of webs vs Kravens hunters instinct.
On the same note i also wanted to see more of the Rhino as all i really know about him are his on screen versions and apparently those didnt do his character justice. He wouldve fit as a secondary antagonist in a movie stacked wtih characters.
- The Prowler. This will be the inclusion of the new Spidey's own personal stakes (assuming the next Spider is Miles). Nothing to really add about the Prowler besides itll be bad ass if Donald Glover was cast. Going from wanted to play Miles to playing the villain of Miles (and the ATS cameo). Would tie it up nicely.
Honorable Mentions/Other Considerations
-
Norman Osborne/Dr. Octavius/NWH villains. Though i love the characters and the portrayals of them in the MCU/Tobeyverse, i wouldnt want to retread on villains that Holland already faced. Especially because NWH was also a multi villain plot, i feel like itd seem repetitive to see the same character while also unwise to recast from Dafoe and Molina's version considering their impact and the trouble it was to bring them to teleport their version to 19999 to begin with. Same goes for the other characters from NWH. I fully understand the importance of these characters in Peter's life. Just that at this point, there really isnt much time to flesh them out to be Spidey's big bad. Not hard pressed against a recast, either could appear as the 5th movies villain and build into the eventual leader of the team. But yea, thats why i didnt include them.
-
Venom. As bad as i crapped on the Sonyverse, i can say Venom's depiction was actually great. I dont really care for Tom Hardy as Eddie, but his Venom humor is really fun and id like to see more for sure. With how vast Venom's story is, i think taking time to really make him a fleshed out character is a must. So tho i want him in the MCU, i wouldnt rush introducing him. I think the NWH set up is perfect becsuse hes not inherently tied to Peter so with a little clever writing, we could get black suit Miles and repurpose some of the best Venom stories with Miles instead of Peter. I also want to stay away from the symbiote stuff from Holland's remaining run as Spiderman because i feel like so far weve seen so much grand scale adventures, i really want the next movies to go back to the grounded New York city wide scale stories and not jump right back into space/cosmic.
-
Kingpin. Although hes one of Spidey's big bad. I just love what theyre doing with him in DD. So id rather not change it if its not broken. If he is included, maybe he can not be an official member but fund the Vulture.
-
Women/alternate takes. Im not opposed to any alternative versions of the characters either as long as it makes sense. For example, Scorpia, if they can explain Tomb's daughter picking up the Vulture mantle, or Kraven's children. I dont know enough about alternative takes on the villain identities so i may have missed obvious men or women character that fits my team.
On the final note. If this movie isnt made, i am still prepared to die on the hill that NWH was a Sinister Six movie. The 6 being, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard, Electro and JJJ/Venom (either one or counting them as contributing a half point each).
