The Great Recycling Bin Debate of 2026

No Advice Wanted

**This is for comical purposes only**
**I am 100% certain my spouse has undiagnosed autism**

My husband takes the recycling bin and trash bin out on Sunday nights. They are both those big heavy bins but our hauler utilizes a grabber claw on the side of the truck. We have a woman trash hauler and male recycling hauler. The woman has been doing it for years and is a total pro. She needs very little space to maneuver her claw. The man is terrible at using his claw grabber. I am not sure what his real hang up is but he was really struggling to get our bin due to how close my husband was putting it to our mailbox. There has never been an issue before we got this new driver about 6 months ago. Last month, I was outside when he came to pick up our recycling. He was really struggling but honestly had enough space to get the bin but he got out of his truck, moved the bin and came up to me and asked if we could please give him more space. He said he needs about 4 feet of space from the mail box. I said "yes, sir. I am sorry about that." And he got back into his truck. I told my husband this multiple times. For whatever reason, my husband can not understand why this guy needs so much space and keeps putting the bins close together and right next to the mailbox still. I have been moving them every Monday morning. Its really hard for him to accept change even when its something so minor. So, every Monday, I am out there in my fancy work outfit moving trash bins around like I am playing musical chairs in my front lawn at 6:30am.

What is your great debate of 2026 with your spouse?
