I’m building a 3D game in Three.js where a server is represented as a physical world that the player can explore.

Instead of interacting with the system only through terminals and menus, the player moves directly through its internal layers as real environments.

The public-facing part of the server is represented as a residential district. The network routing layer became a logistics hub filled with transport systems, packages, cables and security processes. I’m now working on the first low-privilege internal sector: a diagnostic campus with a monitoring center, technical gardens, a suspended bridge and a hospital-like facility used to inspect damaged or unstable processes.

Logs, permissions, routing systems, corrupted data and security mechanisms are gradually translated into places, objects, machines and characters inside the world.

The project is still experimental. I’m building each sector, testing what actually works in gameplay and visual language, and avoiding locking the full structure too early.

The current prototype is made with Three.js and TypeScript, with procedural environments, modular assets, NPCs, vehicles, interactions and destructible elements. I’m also developing a separate world-editing toolchain for prefab placement and JSON map creation.

What kind of gameplay would you expect from a game built around exploring a server as a physical world?
