Hello guys, so I currently have a regular 1080p 24” IPS and am looking to upgrade. I wanted better blacks, actual HDR and a higher resolution, so my initial choice naturally fell on a 1440p 240Hz QD-Oled (such as the MSI 273QP X24).

However, after doing some research I figured it might not be the best option for me since apart from gaming I also do some static work, and burn-in (even with the current oled care features) is a major concern to me. Not to mention lower brightness, text rendering issues and the soft 2H screen coating that come with a qd oled panel.

So then I started looking into the Mini LED market. A couple models caught my eye, especially the MSI MAG E16M with its 4k resolution and 1152 dimming zones. It seems to have everything i would want in a new monitor, but with one issue - i’m not sure if my 5070ti can handle the 4K resolution while gaming. Turns out the E16M has a lower resolution 1440p counterpart (the X30MV), but that one uses a VA panel as opposed to IPS, and i’ve read some pretty bad reviews about VA response times, viewing angles and its black smearing issue.

My main questions are:
1) Is a 5070ti sufficient for 4k gaming or should i stick to 1440p?
2) How severe is the black smearing issue on VA panels? I’m pretty sensitive to this kind of stuff, and i’m just used to ips in general.
3) Will OLED burn in be that big of an issue as i imagine it to be for mixed productivity use (6+ hours of static content per day)?

Would really appreciate some further thoughts and advice from you!

Help me choose a new monitor please
