Shadowing always sounded like a good idea to me. But I never know how to do it in practice.
The standard shadowing advice is "find a clip, play it, repeat what you hear." Which is fine in theory, but tricky in practice, because you spend most of your energy just trying to find a good clip and catch what was said.
Is there a better way to do it?
