Why did he unfollow me

I have a guy friend who i have been talking to for 2 years, not gonna lie i had feelings for him but he didn’t know it and i never showed it clearly just friendly things. He showed interest for a while and i entertained it but he never said anything clear, last conversation between us he stopped by while i was sitting and came to where i was sitting and he exactly said “where you been hiding “ i just said i am busy with work and stuff and he said “just wanted to remind you i exist “ and i said “ i do “ it happened like a month ago. Today I found he unfollowed me?? He went from putting me on close friends to unfollowing me and it doesn’t hurt because i am crushing on him but because i consider him as my friend. So i texted him “did something happen?” He said “hiii how are you, no nothing happened” so i asked “then why did you unfollow me ?” And he said “ dw nothing” so i finally said “just be direct why did you unfollow me “ no response. Why did he unfollow me? And what should i be doing? I am pretty sure i did nothing wrong he smiles and wave when we meet in the hallways.
