Are you chatty with your colleagues?

I’m usually quiet but will have a chat with people when I come in or in the staff room. The colleague I sit immediately next to has done questionable things which makes me wary. I do feel bad not engaging but it’s just weird.

Instance one
Asks me if I know how to make coffee/tea, then to explain it, and then says I should be making it if I’m new. I started a week before him and he waited until we were moved to another room together during Covid to say this. The kitchen was down the corridor at this point.

Instance two
He trained me as we started at different roles, and he wouldn’t tell me the correct deadlines. He’s go on to do the work instead of telling me to get it done if it was my turn on the rota. The one month I was away, he didn’t do it and I got told off by the manager.

Just small things like ignoring me in the corridor, coughing really loud or tapping and banging the desks to get coworkers/managers’ attention, lingering and standing over people’s desks for no reason, etc etc.
