Me (F26) and Ex (M25) are in an LD on and off relationship. What to do?

So basically, we started in person and it was my first relationship. And we fell in love and dated even though we knew he was going to move for education. At one point, I suggested we date casually till he had to move and then break up. He agreed, albeit reluctantly. Eventually we liked each other so much we decided to continue LD. It wasn't easy, we broke up around 20 times in 1.5 years. Most of the times, I initiate the breakups due to not talking on call for a week due to his work. I can only speak to him at night, and he isn't always available, but before, he'd make time for me. Nowadays, he calls me at another time if I'm free, but not at night. Also, when we get back together, we rarely discuss the problem that caused the breakup. Usually, he reaches out after the breakup, apologises or asks to talk and we end up getting back together.

And this time I said I couldn't talk normally because things weren't normal. He hasn't replied yet; it's been 20 hrs.

This time he broke up because I deleted his number in spite of him repeatedly telling me not. I was hurt that we didn't talk for a week. Also, my parents are against our relationship.

Anyway, Ig the question is how to move forward here? I won't be double-texting him (hopefully). So if he never replies, I'll cut my losses and move on. But if he does (I think he will), I don't know how to solve this.

TLDR; Advice on what to do in an LD on-off relationship where we haven't learned to repair
