A Small Resume Change That Can Make a Big Difference

One thing I've noticed while studying recruitment trends is that many resumes explain what the candidate was responsible for, but very few explain what they actually accomplished.

For example:

❌ Responsible for coordinating interviews and maintaining candidate records.

This tells a recruiter what your job involved, but it doesn't show your impact.

A stronger version would be:

✅ Coordinated over 150 interviews in six months, reducing scheduling conflicts by improving communication between candidates and hiring managers.

The second example provides context and demonstrates value. Even if you don't have exact numbers, you can still mention improvements, projects completed, or positive outcomes you contributed to.

Recruiters often spend only a short amount of time reviewing each resume, so making your achievements easy to identify can help your application stand out.

A resume shouldn't just describe your duties—it should show the difference you made in each role.
