Why do I have the northern part including villages from war sails even though I don’t own it?

Hey so quick question, really sorry if it’s already been asked! So I started a new save a couple days ago and I haven’t played for a couple years now and I noticed that I had what seems like the villages and the northern part of the map unlocked even though I’m just playing the base game? Although tbf it says it’s owned by some other faction so is it just like there but you don’t get the full perks of the dlc?
