WIBTA if I said I didn’t want to spend my 16th birthday doing thanksgiving?

Okay so I’m one those unlucky kids who’s born on a holiday. For me it’s thanksgiving. I hate everything about thanksgiving. Every year we host thanksgiving at our cottage, and usually I’m get lucky by having my day before or after thanksgiving.

The thing is, I don’t like meat! And turkey is the most sub par meat yet. And I hate potatoes! Yes every form of potatoes, yes even chips. I am not a family person! Unfortunately for me, thanksgiving birthday means having an actual party like two weeks afterwards closer to Halloween. But the thing is, my family is either early 40s or under 7 so either I’m stuck at the table bored or I’m babysitting. And we don’t have a lot of actual beds to accommodate like 10 additional people, so I’d be spending my 16th birthday sharing a bunk bed that’s too small for me with my younger sister (who spends all of her time screaming at her phone)

My ideal birthday is not doing much in the morning, relaxing and hanging out with friends and then having cake. If I am forced to have my birthday and have to do all the thanksgiving bs, I’ll be spending every waking hour surrounded by people and living off of bread rolls and butter while being sleep deprived from the tiny bunk bed.

WIBTA if I said I didn’t want to have my birthday while doing thanksgiving?
