Single sex toilet law in workplace

Hi. Our workplace, based in both Scotland and England, are trying to get our heads around the new single sex toilet rules.

We have gone through the updated Equality Act 2010 Code of Practice as well as the EHRC CoP but unless I am missing something, it does not give much clear advice on the matter.

It would not be feasible for us to install “universal toilets” in the many buildings we operate, so are wondering if it is acceptable to reclassify existing accessible toilets as gender neutral/universal ones as they are already self contained with a hand basin etc.

Also as an aside if anyone knows where there is explicit guidance on this matter within the CoPs please let me know!
